Gijón’s Citizen Service Offices (Oficinas de Atención a la Ciudadanía, or OAC) are the front door to the City Council for almost any in-person procedure: registering on the padrón, applying for the Citizen Card or lodging a document. They are spread across the city’s districts, mostly inside the integrated community centres (Centros Municipales Integrados, CMI), and an appointment is recommended. Below are addresses, opening hours from the council directory and how to book. Staff work in Spanish, so bring someone along or prepare key phrases if your Spanish is limited.
How to book an appointment
- Online: on the gijon.es appointments page or straight from the appointment request form, where you choose an office and service.
- With the Gijón City Council app: book in-person or phone appointments, and download your padrón certificate.
- By phone: call 010. From outside the municipality, dial 984 847 970. The office phone number listed in the council directory is 985 18 11 05. According to the e-office, the telephone service runs Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) from 8:30 to 18:00.
Tip: many procedures (padrón certificates, electronic register, enquiries) can be done online through the e-office if you have a Citizen Card with PIN or a digital certificate.
